I was told he would go to another location to use their Lazer to have my phone fixed which I was appreciative of but also concerned regarding time and coming back again with in my condition. I was not sure if I could do it again in the same day because I was in pain.
I was trying to address my concerns with time and travel to see how I could manage all of this in the same day with an additional 3 hours added on top of the 1 hour I already waited and the clerk continued to say that he would be closing his shop to do this as a favor for me and would be losing money. He also said you need to understand in doing you a favor. I wasn’t giving him any trouble, I was merely trying to sort out my day, my schedule, and see if my physical endurance was enough to get me through this.
His tone with me was so unpleasant that I asserted I don’t appreciated being guilt tripped and I was merely trying to explain and sort out how I can make this possible but he kept interrupting me.
By the end of all this, he gave me my money back thereby denying me service even though he had the part I had ordered the day prior. Not offering any other options…like maybe here, buy this part and have it repaired elsewhere…or anything more accommodating than his approach to just sent me off.
At the end of this experiences I walked out of there enraged that I was denied service, spoken down to, interrupted and guild tripped that he would be losing money doing me a favor. Then don’t do me a favor if it’s such an inconvenience!
Unbelievable. Terrible way of interacting with a paying customer especially one that is in crutches just trying to get by. Let me reiterate: interrupting a customer who is trying to speak is not good customer service. Saying things like “you need to understand I’m doing you a favor” and “I am losing business by helping you fix this phone today” is not a kindness nor a favor, it’s an inconvenience and it’s assuming I’m not appreciative of the efforts.
I was overwhelmed because I was in physical pain, in crutches and I was trying to figure out how I was going to manage this day and timeline with coming back 3 hours later. I didn’t expect to be talked down to, guilt tripped, interrupted and then denied service. He went to the back and got my deposit and handed it back to me. If that’s not kicking a customer out the door I don’t know what is.
I’ve never been made to feel so shitty, disrespected and unwanted like this before. It was all too much given everything I was already going through. I couldn’t in good faith demand that I receive service after he handed me my money back and denied me service. After being talked down to and interrupted I no longer felt comfortable being in the store.
Unfortunately I will have to find another location to have my phone repaired.
However, upon arriving, it was a different story. There was no assessment done whatsoever. The guy there just started clumsily trying to force the cap back on. As I watched him struggle, it was clear he didn’t quite know what he was doing. I even tried to point out that it might be a hinge or connector issue, but he brushed it off.
When I attempted to take a closer look myself, he snatched the laptop away and continued his rough attempts. I was getting frustrated, especially when he insisted he’d fixed keyboards before, but the results said otherwise.
To top it off, he didn’t even mention that their technician wasn’t available on weekends. It felt like a waste of time. It wasn’t until I confronted him that he finally half-heartedly apologized.
No wonder majority of the bad reviews mention lost or damaged parts on devices. Fed up, I sought help elsewhere. Another store diagnosed the problem promptly through phone call, which is the broken hinge and fixed it within minutes. The damage was beyond repairable and It’s clear this store lacked the expertise needed. Their dismissive attitude and lack of transparency left me feeling utterly disappointed. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this store at all costs. I hope the owner of this store can hire someone more competent without anger issue.
UPDATE: March 1st, 2024. Given that I would not spend another dime fixing this watch with iRepair that should have been fixed correctly the first time, I gave it to my mother and purchased myself a brand new Apple watch. She successfully restored the watch by paying only $100 at another authorized Apple repair shop, and it is essentially as good as new with no issues. All this to say, be careful who you use to repair your Apple products.
