My phone screen was damaged so I came here to get it fixed. Before I had gone to Fonfix in Melbourne central and they gave me a great screen that lasted years for only $100. Here I payed 150 for the high quality screen (or so I thought) thinking that I wouldnt mind paying the extra 50 given they are so close to home.
Only one week passed since getting it fixed and as I was sitting on my desk I noticed these lines on my phone (shown in photo). I called them up asking why this is happeneing. They tell me that I had applied “too much pressure” on my screen from some sort of impact and instead of offering a refund the manager tried to “resolve” the issue by offering me a discounted a price on a supposedly more premium screen type than the one I initially payed for. I told the manager that I cant trust the store anymore and I just wanted a refund but he completely rejected it.
If I had dropped my phone and cracked my screen I would totally understand that it is my fault, however this type of issue is clearly not a fault from the user as it never happens with Apple’s screens or the screen I got from other shops, only this store’s screen has this weird issue.
Personally I am disappointed I wasted $150 here but I hope I can save others by strongly recommending you go somewhere else.
I went to JTech (as I have been to this store before for my phone to be repaired) and I was not disappointed at all. When I went to drop off my phone, I was told that repair would be possible and that my warranty would be covered for the screen, but not for the outside of the phone and that I would need to pay for this. I still wanted to proceed with the full repair. I also requested for my phone not to be reset to factory settings as I didn’t want to lose my photos.
Bill contacted me within 1 or 2 weeks advising that my phone has been repaired and I negotiated around the price with him. He told me that he will speak with Samsung about this. When I went to pick up my phone, it was like brand new and I was extremely happy with the repair. I also bought a new phone cover which Bill recommended as well.
