The first was on Tuesday July 30th. I had gone in because the back of my iphone 14 had cracked and I was curious as too if I could have it repaired (I have apple care). While waiting in line, the guy looked at my phone told me it would be $39 and I agreed he then said they didn’t have any in stock and I said that I couldn’t make it back within the 3 day time frame that it would take to come in. A little annoyed because I paid for applecare and he wasn’t able to provide me with any better options. I said I would come back when I knew I had enough time to be back within the 3 days. I asked if I could just come back at any time and he said yes. I left and drove an hour back home.
Fast forward to today I returned to this location. The guy was automatically rude didn’t say anything and just kinda stared at me until I told him the problem. He cut me off to ask if I had an appointment I said that I had been in a couple days prior and wasn’t told I needed one.. I had already driven 4 hours there and back. He then said to book an appointment once again for the next day which I had to work then. He then just said okay then and stared at me providing me no help or compromise. Obviously discouraged I said thanks and walked out visibly upset because this is the second time within the week that I had driven to this location and had decided to try again because I hoped my experience would be better. However I have learned and won’t be returning to this location. Ontop of this I have begun working on cancelling my apple care as it has proved to be completely useless. For the amount of accidents that happen towards my phone cheaper and less time consuming to visit my local mall. They seem to know more anyways.
This is so unfortunate as i’ve been paying applecare for years and expected at least a bit of an effort to be made on someone’s part. I wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone better to drive there and back to mapleview (would take about the same time that i have wasted anyways)
I purchased my iPhone 13 Pro Max from this store in June 2022 and paid approximately $1800. In September 2023 I had a camera issue which after diagnostics were run was determined to be a hardware problem. I was completely turned away by the store 3 months after manufacturers warranty and only offered to pay $250 plus tax to repair the camera. Fast forward to last week June 2024 when I decided to stop back into this store to get my screen protector replaced. I spent 45 mins speaking with the assistant manager Jason who tried to sell the newest model explaining all the deals he could give me and offered to trade in my phone with a known camera issue for a $614 store credit because he said the camera issue wouldn’t matter and it could be overlooked. He told me in the end that because I was receiving corporate pricing through Rogers I should purchase a new device through them but then to come back and they can offer me this in store credit to purchase accessories or a new Apple Watch. I came to the store this evening and saw Jason again who had to have his colleague look over the phone before I traded it in at which time he of course noticed a camera issue and spoke to the repair technician who now says there is no way they can offer that value for the phone and they could only offer $102!!! I am now on the hook for a new phone that I only decided to upgrade because of the value I was quoted for the phone. This store is horrible and I will never step foot in there again. Buyer beware of these slimy sales people and so called managers who are anything but helpful. Apple lacks any means of reliable support. This includes both you the store and the company as whole!
They did a bunch of stuff then we left and we were contacted 1-2 days later letting us know it was ready and it was just a software issue and the update fixed it (… we had tried a software update with no luck). So we weren’t sure exactly what the issue was but they said the battery is perfectly fine so we went and picked it back up.
Apparently they not only unpaired/reset the watch they also deleted the cellular off the watch. So because that was deleted we now have no access to cellular on the watch and are unable to repair it because we need a new E-sim for the watch (which is a $10 charge). We were warned to absolutely NOT purchase a new ESIM because then it invalidates our original and essentially “cancels” our contract so then we would be on the hook for early cancellation fees, device cost etc.
I have dealt with bell in store to try to correct this, it’s not a simple easy fix, and not something they are able to do in store. So we had to call in to a department of bell customer service, but again… because of contract issues if they do a new ESIM, we had to have our ticket escalated and now we have to wait to hear back from someone in 24-48 hours but may take longer. There may still be contract issues that we will have to deal with because of this. Simply because the person who did our Apple Watch intake for repairs deleted our cellular.
This is so absolutely ridiculous!
