I was advised to return after 2 hours to pick up the device. Two hours later I had returned and was asked to wait another hour as they were having issues removing and replacing the back of the phone.
After the device was returned to me I had noticed there was considerable damage in the form of scratches to the screen of the device. When I had handed the device in there was admittedly one scratch near the middle of the device, and a small one above the dynamic island, but now there’s a noticeable extra 8-9 scratches.
The tech in the back had claimed all of the scratches were already present when I dropped the phone off for repair to the back of the phone. I had paid for the AppleCare and if this was the case I’d of simply paid to have both the front and the back replaced at the same time.
After several back and fourth’s between myself and the front of house staff relaying messages for the repair techs, they’d taken my phone to the back where it had stayed for roughly 30 minutes. Their solution was to install a glass screen protector without my knowledge or permission on the device. If I had wanted a glass screen protector on the phone, I’d of happily paid for and installed one myself.
I was advised the situation was being escalated and should receive a decision moving forward over the next several days. The solution, is I have the privilege to pay to replace the screen that was caused by the techs during the bank repair process.
Would advise anybody dropping off devices for repair to take photos of their devices shortly before handing them over for repairs.
Front end staff are always a joy and pleasure to deal with and are very helpful.
To the owner who replied to my review: Yes I spent about 20 minutes with the technician, but that is not the whole picture. When I arrived for a 12:40 appointment I wasn’t seen until 1:00. The desk was unattended and other store employees seemed uninterested in notifying anyone. After being told they needed an hour to set up a replacement phone I left and then had to come back and wait an additional 30 minutes in line just to see the technician. The phone they gave me was terrible and smelled of marijuana. My total time to get a replacement phone was 2 hours and 45 minutes. I wasn’t the only one frustrated by how slow the line was because two people behind me simply gave up and left. When I asked why it was so slow the sales associate said, “we had a bunch of people not show up today”. Sounds like a great place to work.
