I am compelled to share my horrendous experience with King of GSM, a shop located in Brighton. Their inability to handle a simple cracked screen replacement on my iPad turned into an absolute nightmare. Not only did they fail to meet the promised 24-hour deadline, but they also neglected to inform me that the touch ID functionality was faulty when returning my device. The subsequent encounter with their untrustworthy and unreliable customer service further solidified my recommendation to stay far away from this shop.

Firstly, King of GSM’s inability to meet their own deadline was a frustrating inconvenience. I entrusted them with my iPad, expecting a timely repair, but they failed to deliver within the promised timeframe. This lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction is simply unacceptable.

To make matters worse, upon receiving my supposedly repaired iPad, I discovered that the touch ID feature was not functioning properly. Astonishingly, King of GSM had conveniently neglected to mention this crucial detail when returning my device. When I contacted them about the issue, they initially denied any responsibility, claiming that intermittent touch ID failures were normal. However, after further insistence, they reluctantly acknowledged the problem but failed to offer a satisfactory solution.

The shop’s incompetence and dishonesty are evident in their handling of the situation. It is clear that they lack the necessary expertise and attention to detail required for delicate repairs. Their refusal to take immediate responsibility for the faulty touch ID and their attempt to pass it off as a common occurrence is a testament to their poor customer service and lack of accountability.

A+ experience. The shop technician Midi was very knowledgeable and helpful. He sorted a problem I was having with an Amazon Fire tablet in less time than it took me to drink a pint at the nearby pub! When I returned to pick it up, he thoroughly explained the work performed and had me test everything while I was there to make sure I was happy and answered all my questions. Midi also took a quick look at my wife’s Samsung phone and showed her a few tricks in the settings to help optimize the battery life… at no extra charge! Some of the best technical support I’ve found. I would highly recommend this King of GSM location and Midi.

Took a 6 month Samsung phone in with a cracked screen. This is what came back? And they think this is acceptable? When expressed concerns totally not interested and this is apparently ‘the risk you take when you remove the back of the phone’ never heard such rubbish, was never told about on initial enquiry – there are cracks all over the back and in the camera area. As they are not interested in offering the easy solution of replacing the back for free we will be taking this further. Avoid at all costs you will come back with an equally or further damaged phone.
