I brought two laptops in to be fixed/diagnosed and felt that I was over-quoted. We were told that one of the laptops could only be fixed by a complex and expensive micro-soldering process, and that to have both laptops fixed would have ended up costing more than they were worth!
I felt like I had to make a conscious effort to be extremely polite and friendly, and although the guy who served me did offer a few options to consider, quite frankly I didn’t want to spend my money at a place where I wasn’t particularly valued as a customer. My advice would simply be to shop around…a shame that we have spent PS40 on 2x diagnosis fees, but at least it’s better than having spent more…
Eventually, I went to another place that came highly recommended and ended up spending far less and have got two fantastically working laptops! The “micro-soldering” process was not necessary, and we got it fixed for PS50 instead of PS145 – and NOT by simply sticking tape over the issue – we were physically shown the problem and how it was fixed. For my laptop, I was quoted PS195 to get the part replaced whereas I had it fixed somewhere else for PS100.
I should probably expect an equally patronising response, but I’m just sharing my experience… Convenient location but I won’t be recommending this place to my friends…
The staff were blatantly rude and ridiculing when I wanted to return an item I had purchased there, since it wasn’t compatible with my mac, and incredibly overpriced. They were basically saying it was my fault for being stupid enough to let them rip me off in the first place and would take no responsibility, or let me return the unused product. (I had requested an apple product and even brought my mac in for them to make sure I got the right product). There was no manager to talk to, I was given an info@ email to contact (no name), which I did, but no-one has replied to me.
