I have sent my Asus laptop for a warranty repair, due to rattling touch pad and uneven keyboard backlighting. After receiving it back I have noticed that there’s a gap between top and bottom panels. Looks like one of the pins wasn’t correctly inserted during assembly so I have requested another RMA with Asus and the laptop went back to LetMeRepair. They’ve held it for two weeks only to send it back with an incorrect panel fitted. The panel was from a different colour laptop, they’ve missed a screw, didn’t replace the stickers with laptop information (makes it look like a DIY repair), one of the screws is of a different colour and most importantly the gap was still there!!!
I seriously regretted not just sorting the issue myself as it’s an easy fix (take the bottom panel off and put it back correctly), but I was afraid to lose the warranty. If only I had known that Asus warranty is worth absolutely nothing…
To make it even worse Asus has refused my third RMA as they needed to confirm that damage has been indeed done by LetMeRepair. Which they did eventually, but not after I’ve returned the laptop for a full refund. Huge thanks to Overclockers UK for offering a full refund even though it was over six months after the purchase.
Bottom line:
Use Asus warranty only if you really really need it and take a lot of photos of your laptop before sending it to them;
Choose a reputable retailer which will assist you if you have problems;
Avoid LetMeRepair at all costs if you have a choice!!!
P.S. such a shame about ASUS customer service and warranty partner as the laptop itself is very very good (Zephyrus G14). I am going get a new one again and hope I will never have to use Asus warranty.
I had availed the repair service via Repair request on Asus UK website. The entire service was absolutely free of cost due to my warranty and paid nothing for it (unlike a few other reviews on this page).
Safe to say, I am more than 100% satisfied with the service, my laptop had a battery replacement and was repaired within 1.5 weeks (a bit long and inconvenient as a student), and was sent back along with the charger in a sophisticated packaging to ensure absolutely no damage during transit.
I was really scared for my laptop after reading the reviews on here, I am not really sure why so many people have bad experiences or whether it’s just a targeted cyber attack, nonetheless, my experience was absolutely great and I would rate LetMeRepair more than 5 stars if it were possible! 🙂
