Without giving it much thought, I handed over my laptop. I didn’t take any photos beforehand, trusting that everything would be handled professionally. After all, this was a well-known service center, and I had no reason to suspect anything could go wrong.
A few hours later, I received a call from the service center asking me to come back in. When I arrived, the same technician informed me that they had discovered a problem. He told me that the laptop’s fan was broken and that this was causing the software issues I had been experiencing. My heart sank. I knew my laptop was in perfect condition when I handed it over, and the fan had never made any noise or given any indication of being faulty.
When I questioned him, his polite demeanor began to change. He insisted that the fan was already damaged and that they were merely informing me of the existing issue. To make matters worse, he told me that I would need to pay 50 euros just for the diagnostic check they had performed, even though it was clear to me that the fan was in perfect working condition when I handed over the laptop.
Feeling trapped, I argued that the fan was working fine before and that they must have damaged it while handling the laptop. He denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that the issue was pre-existing. The more I pressed, the more he insisted that I was responsible for the cost.
I left the service center that day with a broken fan, a software issue that still wasn’t fixed, and 50 euros lighter paid for breaking my laptop’s fan. I regretted not taking photos of my laptop before handing it over. It was a hard lesson learned–one that cost me more than just money.
I returned to the shop after receiving a response to my review. A very friendly and helpful colleague in the computer department, Herr Engmann, took care of the entire situation with professionalism and kindness. Not sure what was going on with the staff on the previous attempt however the return policy was indeed honored.

Return policies are not always properly clarified at the location. I bought credit for instant ink, and then realized I didn’t need it, brought the unused card back the next day and was told it cannot be returned. Unfortunately this information was not communicated when the product was sold to me. Buyers beware!
At the time of setting the monitor, I discovered that one HDMI cable was provided. They might hope people wouldn’t come back to the shop to get refund, that’s really unacceptable attitude.
