Frustrated and not finding a solution, I contacted Memory Express. Since I still had a one-year warranty, I brought my CPU, motherboard, and air cooler to the store. They assured me they would fix the issue. After a day, they called to say they couldn’t find any problems. When I visited, they showed me the CPU running under 90degC. They said they just cleaned and reassembled it and suggested that faulty drivers might be causing the issue.
At home, I reinstalled my motherboard and still experienced the problem. Under 100% load, my CPU reached 95degC with the air cooler and above 92degC in games. Suspecting faulty drivers, I factory reset everything and reinstalled my Corsair iCUE LINK H100i RGB 240mm Liquid CPU Cooling System. Still, the issue persisted.
Memory Express couldn’t help, and I noticed my R5 7600X was drawing 120W at 100% load, while they claimed it was stable at 105W using some cheap apps. My CPU also slowed down after I got it back from them. Through research, I realized I needed to stabilize my CPU voltage by undervolting it. After undervolting, I managed to keep my CPU under 90degC and under 80degC in games, and my CPU performance improved significantly.
Memory Express suggested sending the CPU to the manufacturer if the issue persisted, which would have taken about five weeks. They didn’t mention undervolting as a solution. Therefore, I don’t recommend going to Memory Express for Ryzen CPUs. Undervolting fixed my issue, and my CPU is now faster and more stable than before.
Conclusion: If you’re experiencing overheating issues with your Ryzen CPU, consider undervolting as a potential solution before resorting to lengthy and potentially unnecessary RMA processes. This could save you time and improve your system’s performance and stability.
I wish the gentleman Kody who was so helpful and kind previously was there today! I wanted to replace/upgrade some items for my setup and the service was the worst I’ve ever had there. I went to the store for advice and expertise, otherwise I’d just order my stuff online. I wanted the new Razer mousepad, a new keyboard, two new monitors, and my husband wanted a new speaker. The person “helping” me put the mousepad up at the counter and then I needed help with a keyboard. That’s as far as we got. He for sure was NOT interested in helping me. I asked if they had a display with the different Razer keyboards to which he said “no” and that they have a 50 day return policy. I went to look at monitors they had on display because I need new ones and that’s where I saw a Razer display with all the different key styles (picture included) so I just googled them. I saw the prices were better on Amazon for some keyboards so while I was in the store I just ordered everything I wanted off of Amazon! My other issue is, if you have all these items in stock, why are the areas on the shelves empty? Instead of everyone standing around at the cash desk chatting maybe someone could go “out back” and get the items and fill all the empty spots on the displays/shelves. I didn’t catch the persons name that was “helping” me but he was a small guy with light thinning/balding hair and was at the main cash in the middle.

I’m typically an online shopper but my husband wanted a new mic and forced me to come along to the store. Kody was so friendly and easy to talk to and we both really trusted and valued his opinions on products! I will for sure come to this location for my future purchases!
I built a PC, you would think these guys would help you build a PC that would be future proof and budget friendly especially if you mention what you do for work (requires high performance), but they don’t. They either don’t know PCs like the experts you expect them to be or they just want your money. Maybe they need a consultation service…
The amount of gear I’ve had to rebuy because it wasn’t what I needed a year later is ridiculous.
I’ve built two PCs with them and the second built a week later had better parts for cheaper..
Go figure!!
