I came in about a month ago with a laptop that needed saving. The laptop does work now, but only just – it needs to be permanently plugged into the wall to work, unplug it and it automatically shuts down.
In addition to the above, there was a lack of communication and being up front about the service they offered.
When I got my laptop back, it had Microsoft office from 2007 on it.
It’s simple for me, if that is going to be what you install on someone’s laptop, and it’s 18 years out of date, then it should be stated up front. They went for the cheap/free option to them, which I didn’t expect/want. If they had been up front about this, I may not have spent the money and found another solution.
They said they would take it back and I could either have a refund and they’d undo the work they’d done.
The problem for me is I paid PS125 for the work to be done (could’ve got a second hand one without any issues for PS300+), don’t have the time to be constantly without my laptop, with the potential for them to run up extra charges trying to fix a problem that didn’t exist before they got it.
I asked for clarification about whether the issue that was created , presumably by poor reassembly on their side, would be fixed for free and all they said was ‘well it depends on the issue’.
I get the business logic to that, but considering it’s an issue that didn’t exist before they worked on my laptop, I think they should take full responsibility for handing back a fully functioning laptop as part of the service, not a ‘well it kinda works and that’s all you get’. It’s poor service for me, and I’m sure for others too.
In short, it’s not worth the risk to me of them not doing a job properly, in terms of time taken/lost, and potential additional cost to use them, to take it back to them. Which is frustrating.
They may be good for phones, but for Laptops I’d go somewhere else. For Laptops I’d go with iFix centre, they’re just around the corner and whilst less friendly (more pragmatic salesmen) and a bit more expensive, they’re much more matter of fact and practical and offer a similar service where, if they can’t fix your laptop, you don’t pay.
Service Quality:
The overall service was excellent. From my initial inquiry to the completion of the repair, everything was handled professionally and efficiently.
Customer Service:
The communication was top-notch. I called in to check if they fixed PlayStations since it wasn’t clear to me, and they confirmed they do. I then brought in my device; the technician wasn’t in at the time, but they assured me I would get a call within 24 hours. True to their word, I received a call explaining the options and the expected turnaround time, as parts needed to be ordered.
Timeliness:
The repair was completed within the promised timeframe, which was a pleasant surprise.
Quality of Repair:
The replaced Blu-ray lens works perfectly, so I have no complaints there.
Pricing:
I found the pricing to be reasonable for the service provided.
Staff:
I interacted with a staff member named Raj, who was very helpful and courteous.
Cleanliness and Organisation:
The shop itself is clean and well-organised, which adds to the overall positive experience.
Recommendation:
I would highly recommend the Mobile and Laptop Repair Center for their excellent customer service, decent pricing, and good turnaround time.
