iPhone 11:

Screen was cracked badly and he offered PS70 for a new one in half an hour. I came back and the new phone screen was popping out and the colours are more muted and less vibrant.

A warning came up on the device for unrecognised parts. He said it would do that but it’s obvious that he’s used cheap knockoff parts and is trying to hide that.

Now after roughly a couple of weeks my phone will randomly start spamming parts of the screen and it takes a restart to stop it.

iPad Air:

The screen was also cracked. He did explain it would take longer as the screen was an electrical unit rather than just glass. He charged PS180 and while the screen itself works fine, the home button has been pushed in permanently and the glue work around the edge was shoddy with lots sticking out. The glue hasn’t even been strong enough as the screen is now popping out.

The shop itself:

Seems really unprofessional, he wasn’t there when I first went. He didn’t leave any signs to say when he’d be back but he showed up 15 minutes later with a child. The shop itself reeked of chips.

On collection of the iPad a few days later he wasn’t even there despite me also asking for him to take a look at the iPhone again. Instead there was some lady who was minding a sleeping baby, she clearly had no idea I would be arriving for the device and she had to quickly call the guy so I would have to speak to him about the device over the phone all while having to keep quiet for the baby.

I reported the issues with the phone and he offered to take a look a few days later but honestly I’d rather it just be looked at by some one else so my time isn’t wasted.

I had dropped my phone and had large cracks across the screen and sharp edges along the side and top so took it in for a screen replacement. We agreed a price and when I returned later, it turned out that it was only the screen protector that was damaged so was only charged for a new one. I am touched by the honesty in this action, as we had agreed a price and I would have been none the wiser. The chap was clearly delighted that he was able to give me good news! Fantastic service, and if I have any issue with my phone in the future, I will definitely be taking it here.

The very, very lovely man ended up fixing the problem with my phone rather than replacing the screen (which is what I thought it needed).

This means I paid half of what I expected to pay and I have a working phone.

He is a family man and had his young son in with him at the time, I had to do this when my children younng and I know how hard that can be! Being self-employed is not always easy.. He not only took care of me, he did a wonderful job of taking care of his son at the time.

I can’t recommend him enough!!
