Dropped a phone off for a screen repair before 5pm on Thursday. Told could be fixed but need to get part from other store – manager will bring later that day or first thing Friday. Ready by 2 or maybe 3pm on Friday. I give alternate contact # and ask to please update/notify me. Hear nothing Friday. Go at 3:30 and am told they haven’t even gotten the screen. When I inquire why not, along with why no one provided any update, I am given apologies/light excuses. I ask what the new ETA is and am told no real idea and would need to talk to manager and get back to me. I ask again to please text or call alternate # and provide update. Hear nothing rest of the day or Saturday AM.
Go back early afternoon Saturday and am told they are working on it and it will be ready shortly. Go back a bit later and its done but the fingerprint reader doesn’t work. I am told adamantly that they just did tests and it was fine, but then when they test in front of me it fails 5 times in a row. Am told they will try to fix that and can come back later. Explain I cant come back for the 3rd time in the same day, so will pick up Sunday at open (noon). Get home and realize that while testing the phone – they hadnt installed the glass screen protector that should have been on there. Call store and confirm, “oh yeah we forgot” but that it will be on when I pick up Sunday.
Come back today and pick up phone. There is no screen protector installed. The fingerprint doesn’t work at first, but after removing and re-registering the print, it now works approx 75% of the time. I decide I will have to live with that because I am certainly not leaving the phone again.
When I ask if there is a way I can provide feedback directly to an owner or manager (via email), the question is ignored and I am assured “notes will be put on my work order/invoice”. When I ask for my copy of the Invoice I am told it will be emailed to me. When I suggest I don’t want to leave without my Invoice, I am told they can only email it but the tech does confirm my email so I leave. They are now closed for the day and I have received no Invoice.
Both techs I dealt with were polite and apologetic. However through everything, I never once received an update or courtesy call/text. I had to physically drive to the store multiple times as calling them went to a VM every time; a VM which doesn’t have a business name recording so you can’t even be sure the # is correct.
Finally, despite my obvious frustration (while staying civil), no discount or real effort to rectify the situation was ever offered.
Incredibly disappointed
So yes, I had to sit and wait for her break to be over …. so odd.
Suggest that they keep a store phone at the back with them while they work, could have made an appointment so that they would not have my phone for as long as they did.
The work that they did was perfection to say the least.
