Atrocious service: ZERO stars.

I had Mr Fone replace my Samsung Note 8 battery. They shattered the rear face, charged in full and the battery life was actually *reduced* to just 5hrs afterwards (light use, power saving on, notifications off). Unusable – and they refused to provide a refund or put my old battery back in.

So I tried iPhix (2 minutes away on Castle street) and the phone is now good as new. Incomparably superior service – at the same price – and they even replaced the back of the phone for me.

Unsurprisingly, it turns out Mr Fone used a cheap, non-Samsung, no-brand battery.

AVOID.

UPDATE: Mr Fone has replied to this review, seeking evidence and proposing to offer a refund.

They would NOT give me a refund when I requested it in person – along with the till receipt – just a few days after they’d installed an awful, non-branded battery and shattered the back plate.

My personal advice remains: AVOID.

My girlfriend got her phone screen fixed a while ago around November time and her phone has been acting up since. The touch screen struggles to work and would flicker onto other apps and pink lines randomly appear and then the screen shuts off (regardless of battery percent). She went to the shop about this and the guy said there was nothing wrong with the screen and then stated it wasn’t his problem despite the screen still being within its warranty period. Every screen protector she gets from this company gets chipped regardless of how careful she is and has left sharp glass on the side. She was appaled by the service today and we will not return again. I strongly recommend you do not go here.

I smashed my phone screen the evening before I went on holiday and didn’t think I would find anywhere that could fix it before I flew out the next morning but MrFone came out to my home and had the screen fixed in under an hour, he also fixed my speaker which had been giving me bother too. I couldn’t be happier with the service, super professional and a very nice man. Would definitely recommend!!!!
