Disinterested staff and Very poor customer service…..
O2 emailed me to let me know my new upgrade phone was ready to collect from the Coventry lower precinct store. I left work early and made a trip into town especially to collect the phone. On arrival at the shop I was firstly dishonestly told the phone wasn’t there yet. I questioned this as I had an email saying it was at the store. The manager then somewhat begrudgingly went to look in the back room and miraculously found the phone with all my details on the package.
However they would not give me the phone as there computer system had “just gone down”
I phoned up the customer service phone number while I was still in the shop and explained the ridiculous situation and was then asked by the customer services person if they could speak to the store manager on my phone…so I let them….The store manager then tells the customer services person the shops system had been down for several hours and also on the previous day…contrary to what they had just told me!
The people in store could have easily contacted me to let me know I would not be able to collect the phone and saved me the time, money and disappointment.

I was so annoyed that I cancelled the upgrade on the spot.

POOR!! AVOID this store!

Today (20/04/2024), I went to O2 store in Coventry City Centre, I wanted to get Sim with device. So I went in and I asked for the same, so I was been told to wait for 10-15 minutes.
After few minutes a lady came to me(looked like she was in rush).
I have been with O2 before also.
I told her I was confused between two device can you please compare or let me know what will be best for me ?
Her reply was there are device on display you can check over there.
I was like ok, just tell me how much I will be pay for these device, so she just started doing all the process and came to last page of payment ( didn’t even ask me for how long contract length you want or how much I want to pay on upfront).
At that point I stood up and told other staff member about and left from there.

Not at all happy with it.

The quality of service provided by the 02 store was found to be unsatisfactory. The system frequently experiences downtime, resulting in lengthy delays, often lasting several hours, when attempting to upgrade a phone. While some staff members are courteous and helpful, others appear disengaged and unhelpful, displaying a negative attitude. As a long-standing customer of 02, I expect honesty and transparency in communication, rather than being misled or treated as if I lack understanding.
