I went to PC Rescue squad last year as my family laptop no longer turned on. I was quite desperate as it contained family photos. They examined it, free of charge and told me to my face that the motherboard and hard drive were damaged and they couldn’t extract data- they had ‘tried everything’. However, they did have a special section of their business with a clean room where they could attempt to rebuild my hard drive. The cost was PS80 non-refundable fee and a total additional cost of PS500. I couldn’t pay that much. I later took the laptop somewhere else – no problem with the motherboard, data extracted, hard drive given back to me to use as storage, done in 2 hours, PS35, standard problem. I told my local friends about this. I post my experience now as a warning to other potential customers in a desperate situation requiring help. But also, now, I am curious if anyone else has experienced this ‘customer service’? I have edited my original post to be clearer and in response to owner’s claim of blackmail (completely untrue)

I am quite old and untutored the the ways of IT, so problems are challenging. When I moved to a new address I needed help from IT professionals. The new address lacked a landline connection. It was fibre. I had not needed wifi before and lost my old broadband provider. These multifaceted problems, including setting up a new email address, were handled very smoothly by PC Rescue on home visits to both addresses and it was not necessary to recall them. Five stars. Thank you very much.

I am delighted with the friendly, honest and competent service I have received from the PC Repair Squad. This year I had two unrelated problems; one a software issue, the other a hardware fault. Both were rectified smoothly, one while I waited, the other within a day as promised. I am happy to recommend them.
