I bought my first PCS laptop ten years ago and it still works fine, albeit as a desktop because the battery has died. Having researched the new models on the PCS website, I emailed in a specific query about the keyboard layout, and they recommended a particular model. That model did not actually meet the requirement I had specified, but I found another that did. I bought a new Ionica laptop. It’s easy to spec out a laptop on the PCS website, except for choosing how to partition the drives, which stopped me from buying because I couldn’t get the system to accept my inputs. I wanted just a simple setup with two drives, one partition each, but the system wouldn’t accept that, refusing to take the order because partitions of 512GB on a 512GB drive and 2TB on a 2TB drive were unacceptable. There was no online help in the ordering system to explain what to do, so I PDF’d the spec and emailed it so that PCS could create the order for me. They did so quickly, albeit with minor mistakes that I was able to correct. I was then able to pay. The order was acknowledged immediately, and I received daily updates on the build and dispatch process. The delivery arrived on time and in good order via DPD. Setup was easy, and I am really pleased with my purchase. Some kind of online manual for the hardware would be helpful (there’s a button on the keyboard that is not self-explanatory, but the laptop works fine without my touching it!).

I’d been tempted with a new PC as I last built one in 2016, and PC specialist worked out cheaper than building my own… And I get a warranty! Bargain!

I used the public forums after I’d specced up a PC for gaming and it turns out I was well out of the know in terms of Intel Vs AMD… So after getting my PC reconfigured and double checked by helpful people in the forum (these aren’t PC Specialist staff, but helpful forum members) I placed my order!

I made a couple of changes after placing my initial order, and this was painless with no additional fees as my PC hadn’t moved into the production phase yet.

I was kept up to date whenever my order progressed and even had a 360deg image of my PC sent to me when it had been built as a ‘sneak peek’!

My PC was built around Easter, and even though that was the case I’m extremely happy with the turnaround time on my order!
Shipping was next day with DPD and I was notified on 3rd April – I am beyond happy with the PC having had it since 4th April!

First time ever ordering a PC being a console gamer for so long and I had literally no idea what I wanted, I just knew I wanted something decent enough to play a specific game.

I was able to find a configuration that was built specifically for the game, made a few little tinkers and the builder helpfully tells you “XX part might not work with YY part”.

After ordering you get loads of updates, including where to plug in your HDMI if you’ve ordered a graphics card and a great 360 view of your PC.

All in, superb first experience buying a gaming PC, it works even better than I had expected and when I eventually look to upgrade I’ll go to PC Specialist as my first point of call.
