Like all of us at times I have needed help in resolving various computer problems (in my case confined to my personal home computers) I first used Refresh some 20 years ago and at various times since then. The latest was in October of this year.
Each time the quality of their work, customer services and after care was excellent.
In June of this year, I built myself a new computer – unfortunately by August it was causing major problems and nothing I did helped so in October I turned to Refresh.
They were happy to take on the challenge and were happy to have the computer delivered to them the next day. Within a few days Mark had resolved the issue. To do this he had to disconnect all the hardware for testing, installing a clean copy of the OS, reinstalling the hardware, and taking it through several stress tests.
I was updated throughout this process.
Even though it took more time and work to fix the issue than normal they still only charged me their standard fee of PS65.
I collected the computer, and all was well until I attached all my peripheries when things went wrong again. I telephoned Mark and we agreed that everything in the computer was OK. so, it was obvious that my build was not capable of handling the peripheries and work load I was subjecting it too.
Entirely down to me and my choices when planning the build and its construction.
We agreed it had to be an item of hardware, so we started with the power unit as that was the most likely issue and the easiest to resolve. I had calculated my power requirement as 700watt so had installed an 850watt unit. I bought a 1000watt replacement (wanted to go to1600watt but nothing above 1000watt was available). Not only did Mark freely give his advice he also offered to install the unit and evaluate it against all my equipment for free.
This was exceedingly kind and exceptional customer service.
The next day my computer, peripheries, and new power unit was taken to Refresh.
Two weeks later after replacement and exhaustive tests, I picked up my computer and it has been working fine since then.
Even though they took on this additional work I was not charged. Whilst they advertise no fix no fee on this occasion this was not the case as the computer was working on first return it is what I hooked it up to that caused the problem in essence a new issue that they were in their rights to charge for.
That is true customer service and professionalism.

On Tuesday this week, our crca 1994 PC, still in use as a database and ‘printing machine’ for our mail order labels, just ‘died’ on us – I thought that it was probably ‘terminal’.
On the ‘offchance’ we took it to the Refresh IT premises in Station Road, Yate, where our old friend Mark immediately agreed to ‘do my best’.
Next day, Wednesday, Mark’s on the phone – ‘all sorted you can come and come and collect’.
Picked it up plugged it back in, all good as new….. how much did we have to pay for this ‘miracle …… PS75 !!!

My 3 month old laptop failed. Couldn’t start it up. I thought it was a software/malware issue (which isn’t covered by the guarantee) so I took it to Refresh, my local IT firm, rather than to John Lewis. Refresh diagnosed the fault (after my laptop took 2 days to boot!!) as a failed hard drive. They wrote a report for me and gave me screen shots of the error messages to take to John Lewis to get a new HDD under guarantee. John Lewis were very impressed that the fault came ready-diagnosed.
Before I took the laptop to John Lewis, despite its being dead, Mark at Refresh somehow managed to get all my data off onto my external hard drive, and then restored it all, after the HDD was replaced under warranty. All for an extremely modest fee.
