I had initially tried official channels to replace my battery, but despite given an appointment on the website, the staff member told me they didn’t support that model anymore and to try a fix it shop, step in Simply Fix.

I looked online, and found they had a local store, and they described my problem aptly, as I had a potential bulging battery.

Even though I chose the Genuine battery option, that wasn’t available. Probably why the other store told me they don’t support them. The call to inform me of this came the very next day. Afterwards I went down to the store, around the time I had made that appointment.

I forgot to mention that I had an iPod Touch, and had given them the idea I had a Classic, but Ryan was friendly and helpful, and said that wouldn’t be a problem and told me the parts would need to be ordered and could take a few days. They asked if I wanted to leave my device with them, and I thought it would speed up the replacement so why not.

Less than 24 hours later, I got an e-mail and text message to say that my repair had been done, and was ready to pick up.

I went along, and was greeted by Akash who was just as friendly and helpful.

My device looks just like it did before, battery initially charged at 50% (as you would expect) and although I can’t expect it to last forever, I am sure I will have a few more years of continued use of it.

I can’t recommend Simply Fix enough. They informed me of the price, which was five pounds less than on their website (at the time) when I took my device in the first time. This was also clearly shown in the e-mail to say my device as ready for collection.

It’s a win win.

I did have find this place in a local google search , after visiting local Apple Store Southampton , with long wait to service my Mac Book Pro. The staff in Simply Fix is very friendly , and opposed to other service places , would give you instant quote , with no need to wait. Battery & speakers replacement was arranged in a matter of minutes. I brought the laptop in a week after , and it was done on a spot the same day , with email sent advising collection. Perfect , recommend !

First class service. I thought I needed a new battery but the fault was something else and the guys fixed the problem and kept me informed all the time. Would certainly recommend them to anyone requiring a repair and they also have a selection of preowned smart phones all fully guaranteed.
