Website only says “PS30” diagnostic fee but was told PS90 for two hours work. So to clarify the spare parts I ordered and delivered myself cost 3x less. I really should have done it myself, as nothing was fixed, I still have the broken motherboard in question. My guess is he used a multi-meter(PS20) to check the voltages on PSU and that’s about it, only did what I asked but still, incredibly steep for adult-Lego. If those rates sound appealing to you, go ahead.

As for helpfulness; I asked about another computer I own but have never really payed much attention too, saying I required a adapter cable because the ATX 12v was an 8 pin and the power supply only had a 4 pin. He said he’d never heard of any CPU running on half power (It was an APU, my mistake) but I looked it up and it says everywhere to use the port provided for the delivery. Not only that but the model of processor and it should be is a 4 core and its reporting to only be a 2 core. Didn’t have the time of day to search the store for a sata/molex>4pin for me basically, there and then, or to even talk about it.

General overall experience, taken to the cleaners. Better to DIY if you can.

Took my phone in on friday afternoon as I had damaged my screen and would no longer work, the guy said it obviously needed a screen to fix it but was bank holiday weekend so would be the following tuesday before he could get one (as my phone is a bit older). I asked could he use a screen from my previous phone I had at home (same model but battery knackered) he said yes, so I dropped my other phone with him and an hour later it was all sorted. Super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful guy

Very impressed with this shop, they repaired my ipad & laptop recently, both repairs were done quickly and the cost was very reasonable. Last year they also printed something for my daughter when she had a problem with her printer & didn’t even want to charge her!. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
