Just arrived in the country early this year so we went hunting for stuff to use. Not having enough time to research before purchasing made me felt stupid at the end.
We were convinced by Mason to subscribe 3 years Gold Service Extras each for the three household items we purchased as he said we will get 20 dollar voucher each month for every subscription for the covered period(60 dollars total). We thought why not, thinking it would cover the Telstra plan(69 dollars a month) that my wife just subscribed with them so we can get a “bonus” deal in purchasing the TV. There was a lot of conversation and his words are pretty clear. Fast forward after couple months, it turned out that the voucher was quarterly only not monthly. Secondly, since we had 3 gold service extras subscription, we won’t be receiving 60 but an extended period of time receiving 20 dollars. Another marketing strategy to keep coming back and spending money, as 20 dollars won’t literally buy anything. You need to somehow top that up and spend it before it will expire. Lastly, this marketing strategy of THE GOOD GUY in my opinion is as IRONIC as its name. They will always be the winner here. Nothing is given free, it will have to come out somewhere. It’s too good to be true.
P.S. While waiting on the corner for the management to talk to us regarding our query, a rude lady came to us and said “You shouldn’t be waiting here!you are blocking the trolley”! I mean, is there no other way to approach someone specially when there are kids with you? The check out guy have let us wait there!(For more than 30 mins.)

Went in to the good guys yesterday 29/06 to look at and purchase a samsung frame tv, there was a balding Indian man working the TV section and I asked him about the TV, he had no time for me even though no one else was around, I was asking if I could see it out of demo mode, he said no then I asked if they had an 85′ on display he huffed and pointed “THERE” and walked off. I was then approached by a younger guy who was lovely and asked if I needed help and I said yes, then old mate came back around the corner to help, I told the young guy don’t worry about it that the other guy has been extremely rude and I’d prefer to buy elsewhere than be served by him. I appreciate I was wearing activewear, a blonde female and maybe didn’t come across as If I could afford the TV and in hindsight I should have dangled my Mercedes Benz car keys and louis vuitton bag in his face but alas I was treated like dirt who wasn’t worth his time. The young guy tried to step in and help but in the end I walked out, drove to Harvey Norman Taylors Lakes and purchased the 85′ frame TV from there. Had the service been there and actually treated with decency from the beginning the almost $4000 sale would have been his. Pity for the management of this stole losing sales due to poor service and hopefully they provide adequate customer service in future.
Went to purchase robot vaccum. We selected by ourselves, the sale consultant came and printed out the receipt, went to the reception and asked if we could get some discount, as it was $600, and was member. She replied in very rude way that we need to request sales person, i said can i go ask – she said NO as it has now been processed. You need to do it earlier, how can we know that we need to ask sales person can offer some discpunt if we dont ask, dont they inform us while printing out as a courtesy??? And she even said even if we are member or not there will be no discount. So whats the use of becoming member if you cant offer discount- just for you to send your offer to do business or to sell products. Suggested to improve customer service and informative to the sales person.
