Very polite and friendly staff however I took my laptop in to have the screen fixed and 2 days later I received a phone call to say they touched a cable which shorted out and sent voltage to the ‘video card’ which they didn’t know how to fix so the whole mother board had to be replaced as my laptop was no longer functional.

Rather than fix or replace the motherboard for free, they told me they couldn’t do anything for the laptop and that it was ready for collection. I’m now PS1700 out of pocket as I have had to buy a new laptop.

I called them to express my discontent and I was told that I probably broke the laptop myself when I took it home with me after they gave me a quote and that when I brought it back to be fixed it was no longer working. I thought that was a bit odd as they admitted that the breakage occurred after they tried fixing a cable.

I would have happily paid for the screen reparation, which was quoted at PS270 (price kept going up as they were working on my computer, starting with only hinges needing replacing, then a day later a cable, then the full screen which was working fine when I took the laptop in) and I would have even put some money towards the mother board but I was told it wasn’t worth repairing?

This chap absolutely saved my bacon, completed the work fast and was done to a fantastic standard. After shearing the CMOS Terminal off my motherboard I should have been toast (new motherboard & CPU would come to PS300+ for anywhere near current spec). Upgraded IT managed to solder the terminal back on to the board which really shouldn’t have been possible – I can’t thank you enough sir.

I was surprised to see some negative reviews so I took the time to read them – they’re clearly nonsense / trying it on.

I did not reveal that I work in tech and have a good idea of what I’m doing. I’m convinced any other shop would have twisted my arm to buy new parts.

Incredible services! Currys told me it’d be a PS400 repair job for a laptop that I’d only had for 2 months (and that I’d have to pay it myself). These guys fixed it in a few hours for PS24!!

What more can be said? Honesty goes a long way and by charging a reasonable and fair price, it’s a safe bet that they will be my first ‘go to’ in times of tech trouble next time!
