I have ordered from them multiple batteries. While they are of good quality, the specifications can be deceptive and the customer support does not seem too concerned about this.
Let me summarize: old phone batteries are insanely good. Much better than what the manufacturers had to offer back when they sold replacement batteries for those phones. The ones I have tested are the iPhone 4, 4s and 5s batteries. All of them ended up reporting the rated battery capacity in 3uTools, so 5 stars for those. Also can’t find them anywhere else, so I really hope this review won’t get me on their blacklist and not send me any batteries in the future.
I also ordered batteries for the iPhone SE 2nd gen., Xperia Z5 Compact and Galaxy Note9.
The iPhone SE battery needs a BMS replacement, since the original chip is incompatible with the chips used on Chinese copy BMS boards. Because they use a thin cathode, I broke it off while trying to desolder it from the BMS at first. I tried contacting them by email to know if they could fix the battery, no reply. I had to call them and there they told me they don’t make the batteries themselves, but they make them in China, even though on their website they make you believe they don’t. So, the answer was no, they could not fix the battery and I had to order a new one, off of which I managed to desolder the BMS without breaking any terminals. Also worth mentioning is that they sent me a letter inside the packaging for the second battery, instead of replying to my email and not wasting paper. You can view it for yourself below (removed by Google, hope this will change soon), but it basically says that it’s not their business to deal with Apple’s anti-repair practices, but the consumer’s (yours!).
The Xperia Z5 Compact battery is where the deceptive specifications are start and are continued with the Note9 battery.
They rate the Z5 Compact for 2900 mAh. After testing, it seems it’s not far off the original: original gets you 2000 mAh, this one 2100.
Why is that?
Because of deceptive spec.
What you see on the website is total capacity, not actual usable capacity. After my own testing with various batteries, the Z5 Compact allows for only 75% of total battery capacity to be used, in order to prolongue the battery, which explains why the original replacement battery rated at 2700 mAh only gets us 2000 mAh today and the PolarCell – only 2100. Sony Murata simply changed capacity type in the spec from usable capacity to total battery capacity, while retaining the numerical values.
Same applies for the Galaxy Note9, actual usable capacity for their 4200 mAh is only 3300 mAh, for the exact same reason as the Xperia Z5 Compact. For this battery I tried to leave a review on their website, but they keep reviews private, it seems.
Of course, for both of these batteries, the customer support refuses to reply by email and, after I called them regarding the SE 2nd gen. battery, c.s. refuses to take my calls too, which basically means no refund or support for me.
Ausserdem sehr netter & sympathischer Kontakt Macht weiter so!!!
Ich habe schon mehrere Akkus fur mehrere Handys dort bestellt und werde auch in Zukunft weiterhin Euer Kunde sein
Vielen lieben Dank
