I had a fault with my MacBook Pro touch bar this I was due to a tiny crack in the inside of the Touch Bar screen that was stopping it from functioning properly and as a result of this the end segment was missing.

I took it down to the Apple Store in Birmingham who quoted me a massive PS580 just to replace it. so I started looking for Specialists who could repair it but every one I took it to refused it as it is a very complexed and difficult repair to do.

Then I found We Fix Macs in Birmingham and spoke to Kevin who said he could replace it as he has done a few more of these, so i agreed on a price and told Kevin I was happy for him to take on this job. he advised me it would take around 2 days because the part would have to be ordered in however it took around a week to complete the work. I was told because a faulty part arrived and it had to be quality checked and they were extremely busy which wasn’t to much of a big deal for me. once the touch bar was finally replaced I got a call from Kevin for me to come and collect it.

The repair it self was done to a high standard you wouldn’t even be able to tell if it was replaced as it was clean tidy repair for such a complexed job. every thing inside the machine would have to be removed to get to the touch bar and some parts are even glued in which makes it all the more difficult and that’s why no other MacBook Specialist wanted to take on the job.

But the only thing that let it down a little was I noticed a Scratch on my MacBooks top lid which definitely was not there when I dropped it off. as I know my machine very well and it was in excellent condition even Kevin him self told me that it was a very clean laptop on the telephone the day I dropped it off to him.

when I pointed this out to him the day i collect it, he was adamant that it was already there which made me feel very disappointed and that’s the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

It looked like the MacBook may have been placed on something sharp when it was being repaired that could have caused a scratch like this.

I still do recommend Kevin and believe he is very skilled and experienced at what he does to take on these difficult jobs but has to be a bit more carefully.

Wow, so where do we start? 2 Screen Repairs on M1, 1 Screen Repair on my 2017 MacBook, 1 Keyboard Replacement on my M1, and a 1TB SSD upgrade making my older 2017 MacBook as fast as my M1 Macbook, and probably even more upgrades and repairs that I’ve forgotten about.. Kevin is a hidden gem in the world of mac repairs. I’ve been a client of Kevin for over 1 year and have spent over PS1,300 in repairs across various apple devices that I’ve own. I trust Kevin with any product I leave him with, and the turnaround time from when I drop it off to him and get it repaired is unforeseen, not even Apple can compete, seriously. Apple have made me wait over 1 month to repair my MacBook M1 at first for a consumer-right repair, while it took Kevin 24 hours to order a new screen, repair it and give it back to me. I’m a DJ and run a marketing agency, so speed and reliability is something I look for when needing a repair, and Kevin has ticked both them boxes.
Thanks Kevin for all the work you’ve done for me, he is definitely the only repairman who has honesty and integrity in this city.

To say that Kevin is a genius is truly an understatement. I brought my laptop to him after it had died for over 5 months due to “water damage”.
