My son’s 6th-generation iPad had a crack in the glass, but otherwise, it worked fine. I brought it into Gadgetworks for repair and took Prashant’s (manager/owner?) advice that the OEM part was worth the extra $ compared to the generic part. I dropped it off after the weekend and was told there would be a 24-hour turnaround.

The repair was completed within one business day as promised, I inspected it, and everything was fine with the exception that there was now a permanent glare under the glass that was visible on lighter backgrounds. This glare was not here before the repair, and so what I suspect happened is that damage was done to the LCD screen underneath the glass during the repair process. Attention to detail is key in my work, and I am certain the glare was new. Prashant, who was argumentative and could use some lessons in customer service, wanted to charge me a reduced repair fee to take another look but almost certainly said it would be the LCD screen and not something he could do anything about. He felt confident it wasn’t him because he said they don’t make mistakes. At one point, Prashant claimed the case was slightly bent (it’s not) and tried to demonstrate by sliding a business card under it, which was bizarre and demonstrated nothing, as well as showing me how other broken devices have ripples from the battery that could have pressed into the screen from underneath. After debating the issue back and forth for about 10 minutes or so, I left.

My advice to anyone seeking repair here is to treat this like a rental car: take many photos of the device, the screen, and so on to make sure you have proof of the device’s prior state before handing the device off to this company for repairs because they will not take responsibility for anything you cannot prove was their doing.

In the future, I’ll be taking my repair business elsewhere.

I had a wonderful experience at this store, specifically with Prashant. I had a mediocre turntable, that isn’t great quality to begin with, but looks good. The unit arrived damaged and the manufacturer had discontinued it, therefore, they did not dare to fix it. I called multiple places no one wanted to take a look at it. Prashant agreed, and was also very transparent with me from the beginning that there is no guarantee, which I always appreciate. Although the damage was not entirely reversible due to the nature of the defect, he still fixed it and the service I received was truly outstanding. I highly recommend this store. I love this place. When I walked into the store I was greeted and helped out immediately. I came to fix my sons iPad screen. The middle of the screen wasn’t responding to touch and driving my son crazy! From my conversation with the owner and quality of repair I received, I can tell this place truly cares about their customers and take their time to make sure it’s done right. I will definitely come back and recommend coming here for anyone with any electronic issues!
