On the day of the install, the installers surveyed the situation and said that the order did not include a stacking kit (which was assured us by the staff when were in the Best Buy store at the time of purchase), and that they would not be able to complete the install. They were very courteous and put me into contact with a Best Buy rep to order a stacking kit and reschedule.
We thought all was well when the crew returned, but this time our doorway to the area where the w/d were to be installed was about 1/8 inch to small. For this, I blame none of the Best Buy staff or the wonderful install crew. This was simply a mistake on my end for not taking into account that our home has made subtle foundational shifts and I should have taken additional measurements of all doorways before purchasing and scheduling delivery. Again, the install crew was wonderful and put me into contact with another Best Buy customer service rep who found us a new washer and dryer that would fit and rescheduled the appointment.Later that evening, I received a text from Best Buy saying they needed to reschedule. It gave me a list of options, and I selected the earliest available appointment. This seemed like great news since we would get them a bit sooner. Come the day of the appointment, two installers show up to install the w/d that doesn’t fit..not the new w/d that were supposed be delivered and installed. This seems to be a problem with scheduling and coordinating with Best Buy.
None of this would be an issue if it weren’t for each time we have an appointment for our W/D install or removal that I have to remove our toilet to allow for clearance space for where the washer and dryer are to be installed. After this issue, I decided to cancel everything and go with another retailer for the w/d. The installers were great and put me into contact with another Best Buy rep who assisted me for 2 hours scheduling the return of our units and accessories. The day of our return/pickup appointment, I checked my phone at 6:30 in the morning to see where we were on the schedule; however, the link showed that order had been completed/delivery was complete. Upset with this, I reached out to Best Buy geek squad a number of times throughout the day to figure out what was going on. They kept assuring me that I still had my appointment and everything was okay–the installers were to be at my home between the window of 7 and 11 AM. By 12PM I reached out and was reassured the same thing. At around 2PM the same thing..and finally at around 4 PM after not receiving a call back, as I was assured, I reached back out demanding to know what was happening. The rep explained that the install/pickup crew had an emergency…okay why couldn’t someone let me know this? My time is not very important to them, I suppose. I have to wait around all day for something that won’t get taken care of and no one could communicate this?
Additionally, Best Buy has a weird issue with delivery/install/returns of appliances, where you cannot reschedule the same day of a botched appointment. You have to wait until the next business day, call back, explain the situation all over again.are notes and information not kept on file?
I tried to call and reschedule for my return to be picked up this morning (the day after my appointment that never was), but the rep said that they still cannot reschedule and I would have to wait another day.
I will not pay you for my loyalty.
This is the last time I will ever shop at Best Buy despite buying most of my electronics and my brand new appliances here recently. You have lost our families business forever. I will now be going to another store straight from here to buy the Dyson vacuum and the new big screen tv I set out to buy today.
I do not blame the store for the process. The world is changing and nobody uses checks anymore. I will obtain a debit card for this account for future purchases. Anyway, I just wanted to apologize to Hasan for the trouble we caused to him on the purchase, and to congratulate Best Buy on their recruitment of this excellent employee. Thanks Hasan!
