I brought in my PS2 slim because it wasn’t reading discs and I said I thought the laser was broken, but didn’t know for sure. Four days later, I got a call back saying that the laser was the problem just like I’d thought, but they couldn’t get a new one from their supplier and the cost of replacement would’ve been greater than the value of a new console regardless. Fair enough, given the age of the PS2, except that after I brought it back home, I saw that the warranty sticker over one of the screws on the underside was still firmly affixed, meaning that they hadn’t actually opened up the console to examine it or figure out why it had stopped working. It also turned out that the laser wasn’t the problem, or else not the only one, because the original issue persisted after replacing it. In other words, I paid $30 upfront to get the issue diagnosed, and instead they just told me that I was right about which part was the problem without actually checking whether this was true. The people I spoke to were nice, and all that, but I don’t get the impression that anyone here had a ton of experience with PS2 repairs, even though that’s what’s advertised.

I dropped my phone on a Tuesday afternoon. I scheduled an appointment for the next day via their website. Then I realized that when I signed up, I was supposed to receive an email with further instructions, but I had no access because my screen was damaged. There was no crack on the glass part, but it was the electronics part of my phone that was damaged. I called them (from a different phone) up and explained, and they confirmed that they had received my appointment request and checked if they had the parts for my phone, and they did. Told me I could drop off my broken phone between 10-11am, told me in advance what I would have to pay once the repair is done, and it only took 1h-1.5h max! I got my phone back and was happy with how easy the process was and how quickly they fixed it, too! They were so nice and helpful, and if I remember correctly, the guy’s name was James, the one who personally helped me that day! I definitely recommend them!

Horrible store
They claim 1 year warranty on their parts and they refused to replace the defective screen they put on my phone a week ago.
Phone is free of any scratches (front and back) and they claimed the burned spots and random lines showing up on the screen are due to physical damage and now I have to pay for it.
Ridiculous
I had to escalate it to Google to get my phone fixed

* Edit in response to store response; been 3-4 days now between filing claims to claim center and sending emails to store and haven’t gotten my issue addressed. Escalated the situation to Google and all they needed was pictures to show the device is free of damage (like what any reasonable person would do with no fraudulent intents) and they sent me a replacement in 10 minutes.
It’s a shame I had to get my pixel device fixed through ubreakifix.
