My cell phone (Google Pixel 8) had a screen malfunction that I had spoken with Google support about, described the issue, and they had told me that the repair would be covered under warranty. They offered this shop as a potential shop at which I could have it repaired, so I showed up – it was very busy but understandable for a shop like this (waited for about 75 minutes in line). We were told that due to a backlog, our phones would not be fixed by the end of the day, but would likely be repaired by close of the following day. When I got to the front, they took one look at my screen and said that it wouldn’t be covered under warranty and that even if I wanted to go that route, it would take them several days to reach out to and hear back from Google, and in the meantime, they would need to hold onto my phone. They offered to instead have me pay out of pocket for a new screen in the back and they could have it done for my by the following morning. I relayed what Google customer support had told me, but they were vehement that Google does not and would not repair phone screen damage, even if there is no physical evidence of damage. Disappointed, but not about to hand over a hundred bucks for a repair that I was told would be free, I left.

I waited until the credit hold from Google cleared before posting this, wanting to see if the salesman was indeed correct. Google sent me a new phone overnight, and had me ship my malfunctioning one back to them. After they inspected the returned device, I was charged $0 for the replacement, because like they claimed, the damage was covered under warranty.

People make mistakes, but the whole experience gave me bad vibes, like I was trying to be upsold on something that should be free.

My original review was a 5, unfortunately now changing to a 1 and here is why. When the original call was made to make sure uBreakiFix could work on my phone etc, the price online showed $299 to fix the screen on my S24, all confirmed over the phone with the Glen burnie store. Once in the store, the gentleman told me we were looking at the wrong phone origionally & the one he found was for the plus but it will work (i don’t have a plus). The screen does work great, but claimed the price went up for that reason. Okay, fine, I didn’t stir anything up and paid the new price of $343.43. I was told payment needed done upfront, even though the website says the opposite, another inconsistency with false advertisement.
After getting the phone back that evening and leaving a 5 star review, I looked on the website again and confirmed my phone was showing $299 online for the service I got. The store didn’t open again until Tuesday, so I called that upcoming Tuesday & explained the situation. I was told that they would honor that online price even though, apparently they are a franchise? That I would get a call back, and it would be refunded. I never got a call back, and I never got that refund of $29.50. You can have the best front faced customer service in the world, but between the false advertisement & straight up neglecing to follow up & follow through with a refund you claimed you would honor makes this bad business & bad service. I do NOT recommend.

If you’re a semi-attractive mom with leggings they’re going to find a way to help you quicker. If you’re not, prepare to spend hours sitting there waiting for someone to assist you. Once you’re seeing however they do phenomenal work which is why I think they stay so crowded, they may be victims of their own success. So where leggings and you cut your wait time down from 3 hours to about a half hour give or take (I wish I was joking). Trust me I get it, I would probably help them quicker too lol but it definitely doesn’t feel good when you’re waiting 3 hours to be seen.
