I called CPR on 6/21/24 (after being told in person that my phone’s replacement part was still in transit on 6/18/24) to confirm if my phone was finally ready for pickup. During that call, I was told that my phone’s screen was faulty as it “was not displaying anything on screen after powering up”. To which I replied that was odd because I hadn’t had any other issues with my phone aside from it’s broken charging port. After which, it was confirmed that my phone’s screen was in fact operating and was chalked up to a delay with its booting.
On Sunday 6/23/24, I went to pickup my phone from CPR. I asked one of the employees if there were any other issues with my phone that I needed to be concerned about, being worried about my phone’s screen. He mentioned that my phone’s battery seemed “a bit old”, but otherwise it was fine (charging port and screen included). I found his statement to be odd but not completely implausible given my phone’s age. However, I NEVER had any problems with my phone’s battery performance because I’ve kept my phone on the maximum level of its power-saving mode since the day I bought it.
While handing me my phone, he said that my phone was “only on a power cycle” and emphasized that it’d take some time to power up. I didn’t see any need for concern immediately because I figured that it was simply routine.
However, as of 6/26/24, my phone has been repeatedly rebooting itself for endless periods of time. I have to intervene by interrupting it’s boot up by holding down the power button, only to have to repeat the process over again in 15 minutes after the phone again reboots itself. Obviously, my phone’s battery has been compromised when it was never an issue to start with. Additionally, my phone’s speaker no longer works while I’m on calls which was NEVER the case.
I feel cheated and am trying my hardest to not be deeply suspicious of CPR. I thought that this was a business that people could trust, however I’m honestly left with the impression & fear that my phone has been sabotaged in order to be bilked in the future.
There’s no reason why a phone that has been well cared for should all of a sudden have new issues arise right after getting a single part replaced.
I went in with low expectations and not expecting to pay any less than $300 based off of my google searches and was pleasantly surprised to find it was less than $200.
I want to specifically call out Christian and his incredible customer service!! He spent extra time to find me the absolute best deal instead of just the first one that popped up in their system, stayed in contact with me the entirety of the process, and he had my laptop done (I think?) the same day they received the screen, and if not then the day after. It was truly the smoothest experience I could’ve asked for both service and price-wise. Highly recommend for any electronic repairs!!
