I brought a Flip5 in for a Samsung warranty repair (screen broke in the center). Samsung sent me to this location.

Overall my experience was very mediocre, and a bit on the disappointing side. The front staff (male with a hat, didn’t catch the name) was friendly enough when I dropped the phone off and when it was picked it up.

My main issue is the stores communication. I dropped the phone off just after the store opened. The man at the front said it would be done between 2:00 and 3:00 that day. He said they’d text me when it was finished. 6pm rolled around and no text, so I called, and no answer (the way it had been since I tried reaching out to schedule a repair). So I figured maybe it took longer? It’s an hour round trip so I didn’t want to show up for no reason.

The next day, still no text so I tried to call again, just a busy signal always (I learned later their phones are down and have been down for some time). I waited until the end of the day to go in, just before closing.

Arrived, and the phone was ready. I asked when it was finished, he said 11am that day. Later he said it was finished the day before, so I’m not sure which it actually is. I said I didn’t receive a text, he said oh, sorry. I said I couldn’t call, he said the phones are down. I mentioned that he told me I would get a text when it is ready, he said “I’m not the one who repaired the phone, so I don’t know”. That comment left a bad taste in my mouth as it shunts responsibility and shows low accountability. He is the only person I have interacted with, and he’s the one who told me when it would be ready and that I’d receive a text. When that doesn’t happen, he also should be the one to take responsibility for it.

My suggestion for the business:
You cannot always control when phone systems go down, that is understandable. You do, however, have a way to text message customers when repairs are done (I did receive a “it’s ready, come get it” text after I already had my phone). When you give a time frame for completion, strive to make it within that time frame. If you will miss the time frame for any reason, update the customer by telling them so. A simple “we apologize but your repair was not completed within the promised time frame, it will be finished up tomorrow. We’ll text you when it is ready” would have resolved nearly all of my concerns.

I am writing my first-ever review for a business, which is not something I typically do because we all want small business to survive. However, my experience with uBreakiFix in West Chester
location has been extremely disappointing. I brought in my MacBook and a new battery to install in the second week of December 2023. They messaged me on December 24th, 2023 that it was installed, but when I arrived, it was not. They then requested an additional two weeks to fix it. Eventually, they informed me that it would now cost $250, or I could purchase a membership to reduce the price to $180, which was significantly higher than their initial quote. I provided an estimate from Micro Center showing it would cost only one-third to install the battery (About $70). I asked them to return my MacBook back to have it installed elsewhere, they claimed it wasn’t ready. Despite multiple visits in January and February, it was still not ready. On March 29th, they messaged me saying it was ready, but upon pickup, I found the screws were not in place and my charger was missing. They apologized and promised to ship the macbook to my address. After multiple attempts to follow up, including imessages left, I still have not received my MacBook as of April 15th which is more than 4 months from the date I dropped it at their shop. I suspect they may have even taken my new battery. This has been my worst customer service experience ever, marked by rudeness and unprofessionalism. I advise others to avoid this shop at all costs. I called the 1-877 number that is provided as part of the google review responses, but no use as it got transferred back to their west chester location voice message. My rating is one star because there is no zero star – they are Very unprofessional, Rude, expensive, cheating (Stealing parts) and what not. Please do NOT go to this place for any kind of repairs!

Last August the phone screen was replaced and it cost over $300. I picked up. I plan to use it as a backup phone and went home and it seemed to work fine except now the microphone did not work. This location is about 20 mi from where I live and I thought it was fixed. The screen was fine but they sent me home and the microphone and charger port didn’t work. I used a wireless charger but didn’t really get to use the phone as I had intended. I remember them telling me I had to bring in the original receipt if I needed to have anything else repaired. 4 months later I found it and took the phone in. The technician peeled off the case and since a sticker was on the back of the phone he said they don’t need the receipt when the sticker is there. I would have been in so much sooner had I known I did not need my receipt. I left my phone overnight and came back the next day. The technician had gone home at all and just left my phone there with now information for the other worker. So I made another 40 mi round trip the next day to pick up the phone, they said that simply two cords had not been plugged in during the previous repair. I told them I didn’t have my receipt and would have brought the phone in sooner but the technician said you don’t even need your receipt if you have your phone number we can look up your phone. I’m sorry I didn’t go in sooner. At least I have my secondary phone back, and they do great work, a year warranty is a huge plus, except when you don’t know that you can bring your phone in without your receipt. I had my receipt, and finally put it where I would remember it to take in with the phone.
