Johnathan, the assistant manager, really helped me out. My laptop died mid work, and I really needed to recover the data. I had ordered a new power supply and laptop battery off amazon but my laptop still wouldn’t hold a charge. Took it to Altex, and with the help of Johnathan, we were able to figure out it was a defective power supply. Bought a new power supply from altex, and my laptop is now able to charge.
As nice as it is to have an electronics store nearby, the Altex chain really embodies the reason brick and mortar retail is dying. The limited store hours and severe markups really rub salt in the wound of already having to drive here.
Somehow, these computer part prices make the 6-and-a-half-hour round trip to the Micro Center in Sugar Land look appealing… if you still want to support physical stores.
Staff was really nice and helpful which is the only reason why this place isn’t getting a 1 star. The prices here are not competitive at all or even close to. If you are looking for anything pc wise do not come here please. Save your money and go buy them from Amazon, Newegg or go to microcenter. Most if not all of the pc items here were overpriced and found cheaper.
