I bought a phone case and screen protector for about $50. Long story short they were both incorrectly labeled with stickers by best buy *not the product’s companys* as “compatible with iPhone 15Pro” but they were too big to fit my iPhone 15Pro. I am a social worker at a nursing home for nuns and work 12 hour shifts on top of working a second job so I am very tired and did not bother to open the products until 2 weeks after the return policy was past because I did not anticipate I’d have to return them. After all, they said right on the box they were compatible with my specific phone. I went to best buy and explained they were 2 weeks past the return date and Ken the supervisor was, at first, kind to me and said it was no problem and he would accept my returns. Once he realized the screen protector had been opened he said he was not able to accept the return. I was very calm and polite and asked him how I would’ve know an employee had mislabeled the box without opening it. He said it didn’t matter and I could try to contact otterbox. This isn’t Otterbox’s problem, Best Buy mislabeled the product, not them. I did not want to waste my time trying to get help from otterbox when I don’t think they would help me. I pointed out in my settings that my iPhone was in fact the 15Pro and both boxes said “compatible with 15Pro” and he said it didn’t matter. Actually he repeatedly said “I don’t know why you’re pushing back when I’m trying to help you” and “you’re going about this the wrong way” despite my calm and polite demeanor. He was getting pretty upset with me and although he initially said he would accept the phone case because it hadn’t been opened he changed his mind and told me he would no longer be accepting either product because “I was pushing back and going about this the wrong way” I said thank you, I will be shopping at Amazon only from now on, and I left. I filed a chargeback with my credit card company for receiving the incorrect merchandise and after explaining the situation to my credit card company I am confident this will be an open closed case. It’s too bad Ken wouldn’t accept even the one return because now, to no fault of my own, bestbuy will lose money and to my knowledge I will not be obligated to return the mislabeled product that they could have sold again. I will be offering both items up for free when my dispute is finalized. Bestbuys only edge over companies like Amazon is their customer service and higher quality products and they failed on both of those fronts today.
Best Buy is great but this location is a wart on their reputation. Constantly understaffed and they seem not to care in the least. The “host” today was rude to some older woman because she was tired from waiting so long and it was hard to stay standing with her walker. A disgusting display of ambivalence and disregard for the customer. Not to mention, three of us all walked out at the same time. Guess they don’t need the money. Stay away. It’s a waste of time.
Waited 45 minutes for someone to help me. Girl at the door checking you in tells me to wait by the isle I wanted to get a product and someone would be right with me
No one ever showed went back to ask her and she says we are busy. I saw maybe 4 customers in the store and no one helping them so what were they busy doing ? Terrible service walked out didn’t buy anything . Great job guys
