My experience with Geek Squad at Best Buy was extremely disappointing. I brought my computer in for a virus scan and checkup, expecting professional assistance. Instead, I was charged approximately $300 and received no tangible service in return.

Geek Squad returned my computer without having performed any diagnostics or scans, leaving me with the same issues I came in with. When I took matters into my own hands and ran a scan using Malwarebytes, I discovered over 600 detections that Geek Squad had completely overlooked.

This level of incompetence is unacceptable, especially considering the high cost they charged for doing absolutely nothing. I would strongly caution others against using Geek Squad services for any technical assistance, as my experience indicates they cannot be trusted to fulfill even the most basic tasks they charge for.

In conclusion, my interaction with Geek Squad was a complete waste of time and money. I will not be returning for any future services and recommend others seek alternative options for their technical needs.

Employees were nice and offered help multiple times in different areas. Store was clean & what was in stock was very well organized. I gave 4 & not 5 stars as there was quite a bit of empty shelves/ missing merchandise. It was actually really sad to see that much empty areas on shelves in a large well known Tech/ appliance store like this. Not sure the reasons. Plenty of customers walking around looking in store that day. Plenty of employees in store also. Just so much empty shelf spaces where merchandise clearly used to be or should be.Felt very odd though.They did have the Firestick remote my husband needed to replace one he lost.We were grateful for that.

The Best Buy in Joplin always has very helpful staff who are knowledgeable in their areas. Most have some personal experience with the products or can refer us to someone else in the store who does. It is nice to hear about how the items have worked for them, especially if they have linked or integrated different technologies because we are often trying to do that ourselves, but hesitant to risk something that might work. Their shared experiences are useful in decision making. We enjoy doing business there because of this great customer service.
