This location’s GeekSquad department is dishonest and uses deceptive practices. My daughter brought in a laptop that was purchased around 9 months ago. She brought it in for the keyboard to be repaired under the factory warranty (she is in college and needs it for her coursework). She was told that there was no warranty available and that the only way to repair it was to pay $180 for a GeekSquad membership. She paid it believing there were no other options. This was in fact a complete lie told to her with the intent of signing her up for a useless yearly subscription membership. Ultimately the laptop was not repaired by Bestbuy, but instead sent out for repair utilizing the manufacturer warranty that my daughter was told did not exist. When I returned to the store with her to get answers on why she was lied to, they said that they performed some useless reset that she did not even ask for and that I could not cancel the membership. After much discussion they refunded a measly $25 with no further effort to correct the situation. Bestbuy will not get another dime from me and I will share my experience with all of my friends, family and colleagues. Bad predatory business practices.
Hear my sad story: I had two appointments this week with the Geek Squad folks — to replace the battery in my iPhone SE 2020. Tuesday I was told the geek who does that work called off. I could leave my phone (really?) or reschedule for Friday. I rescheduled, asking first if they would have the required part. “Yes,” I was told. I arrive for my appointment today and am told they don’t have the part! Huh?!
Talked to the mgr: “Can’t the Geek Squad figure out how to message customers when the right geek isn’t there for the appointment or the required part isn’t in stock?!” Guess not. Two x 60 minutes of driving for nothing. Mgr wanted to set up another appointment! Are you kidding?! I’ve been screwed twice this week by their poor service. That’s enough for me for one store.
Hey, BestBuy, if you provide poor customer service, we don’t need you. I can buy any thing in your store for fewer $$$ from Amazon and have it at my door tomorrow. I came to you for service — but didn’t get any. Lock your doors. We don’t need you.

Store was decent. The employee helping me was pretty knowledgeable. Ended up buying a Sony tv, surround sound system, wall mount, and a sound bar mount. Also got speakers for the truck. The tv was competitively priced with the local stores around which was great. I opted to wait for the first geek squad appointment that was 3 weeks away because we didn’t want to use their 3rd party installers. I told the employee when we were scheduling the installation no less than 3 times that I had TWO TVs and surround sound systems that had to be installed. He didn’t listen. 3.5 weeks later when my items were delivered and the installers were there, they said they only had orders to hang one system. Left a pretty volatile taste in my mouth. When I reached out to the store after leaving a review on the survey they said they would get in touch and that hasn’t happened.
