I had Apple tech support schedule me an appointment here to get my iPhone looked at. My camera was acting up on a brand new iPhone and needed to be diagnosed. I showed up about 5 minutes early, and they didn’t even check me in until 15 minutes after my appointment time. Then the guys annoyingly asks me what my issue is. I explain the problem, and he tells me they will probably have to take my phone and send it in to Apple, and it will take a week to ten days. The craziest part, is he tells me that there are two people in front of me (Remember, I had a scheduled time), and they will get to me when they can. I asked him for an ETA, and he said whenever they get to it. He seemed pretty annoyed to be doing his job. I walked away, scheduled an appointment with the Apple Store for a few days later. Before I left, I told him that I no longer needed to be seen, and that I apologized for bothering him. He said “It’s no bother” in an upbeat sarcastic voice. Long story short: They are extremely unorganized, under staffed, and treat you like an inconvenience . If you need an Apple Product worked on, go to the Apple Store. I had a much better experience, and my phone was fixed there in less than two hours, free of charge.
bought a Dell laptop from them; hard drive failed w/in 3 mo. Dropped off w/ Geek Squad ( went good ), but when they called 2 weeks later, they called our secondary phone number and left a call back number. That callback number led to an IVR system that put us in an infinite loop that could only tell us that our work order was “pending” ( <-- no $hiT, right ). After 25 minutes of calling different Best Buy phone numbers, they tell me that I have to make a reservation to pick up the completed laptop ( which was covered under manufacturer warranty ). So it's done, I don't have to pay anything, but I'm supposed to schedule a reservation for pick up? really? How long is the pickup supposed to take? wth?
The call center was a horrible experience, in store was fantastic! I was not originally charged a deductible on my phone insurance to get a replacement since it was a software issue but when I called in they wanted to charge me without explaining why. During my second visit to the store I was able to get an explanation of why my order was being cancelled and why I would need to be charged a deductible. My “geek” was very patient and helped me through a call with the corporate line to make sure all my information was correct and cancelled so I could get my new phone quickly!
