Geek Squad in South Boston | Best Phone, Laptop, and Computer Repair Services at Affordable Prices | Quick Fixes

An utter waste of my time. First went back and forth with the person on the online chat to diagnose. After spending 30 minutes total, I had an appointment with geek squad.

So I went to the Best Buy in Dorchester. They looked like they stopped caring in the store a long time ago. I literally thought of Blockbuster in its last days. Not sure if corporate is looking to close this store but it sure looks like it.

I sat at the geek squad table and waited for the person to help me. And waited. Finally a person showed up and asked me what was wrong with my laptop. Told him what was wrong with the port and he immediately goes into how they ship it and do diagnostic ($80 something dollars). I could just take it to Dell and get it done cheaper and probably quicker.

They’ve given up on the store so I will too.

Their partnership with apple is broken. They actually can’t help you unless it is a super simple standard issue. More important is the service level they provide when something requires a bit more work – they just say you have to go to Apple. The thing is apple shows them as an authorized repair and service center. They won’t try to arrange a repair using their partnership with Apple. My impression is they are just too busy and don’t want the hassle so they just happy to get rid of you. They mentioned escalating it for me but it would take time and when I asked to do it another person stepped in and said that it’s not possible. Bottom line – unhelpful im general and unprofessional customer service. Wouldn’t come again ever

They need to fire all of them, Useless bunch of people. Last week I made an appointment to have my new msi summit laptop install. The person I talked to said the first 29minutes is free. Set up the appointment got there the geek squad guy told me that you have to pay $40.00 install the software or you could do it at home… They didn’t tell me that, I wasted money to get there once I got there it was a waste of time…. If they cannot provide the service of helping ppl they don’t need to be in business.
