Not a great experience at the Geek Squad inside of Best Buy on Roosevelt. Not. At. All.

I took my laptop in to have the battery changed. Seemed simple enough. Cleary not. The manager, Dave, ruined my computer and was unwilling to correct the issue until I asked for the store director.

Dave initially lied and said the director was out. When he saw I was not leaving without a satisfactory resolution, one that did not involve me having to purchase a new computer, the store director mysteriously became available.

I understand; things happen. But don’t blame your customers for your error. Make it right and move on. It’s the right thing to do.

He did eventually replace my computer but with a lesser brand. He also refused to provide the paperwork, warranty, power cord, etc, that should have come along with it. He also took several days to transfer the data, which should have only taken a few hours.

How do you screw up and then do everything in your power to blame and inconvenience your customer for your mistake?

Some people should clearly not be in management without extensive and continuous customer service training.

In these instances, I’m really glad I have other options….

If zero stars could be a thing that’s what they would get. Came in several times about the power on my laptop going out. They did a battery reset that would only work momentarily before I’d be back again for another visit. They suggested all of these unnecessary updates and so I suggested a simple battery replacement …. I DONT EVEN WORK IN TECH..
they said “oh yeah let’s try that”
Even with an appointment you’re still waiting in line and after purchasing a battery for the replacement, it took two people to still not get my computer working as I walked out the door. Nice of them to refund me the payment for the service (the least they could do..) but still hassled me to buy a new laptop.

Luckily, I had the parts and I did the battery replacement myself by watching a YouTube video when I got home.

My laptop has been working perfectly for the last two weeks! HA! Thanks for none of your help geek squad..

The absolute worst experience. Drivers attempted delivery of a dryer,began dismantling my old dryer. One driver stated railings needed to be removed before I knew the driver left without installing dryer. I have been on the phone since 11:20 am it is now 8:05 pm. I have been transferred, on hold, interacted with Best Buy representatives who know nothing but how to transfer a call no response from GEEK squad and regarding their horrible unprofessional drivers
I now have a gaping hole in the wall and my old dryer in the center of the floor. I will never use BESTBuy or GEEK SQUAD again. The representatives chosen by both establishments are horrible, crude and unprofessional.
