I recently brought my laptop to Hi Tech with a hard drive failure. The laptop company was going to replace the drive but I wanted to see if Hi Tech could retrieve the data on the laptop that I had stupidly not backed up…
The technician obviously was extremely experienced and spent some time attempting to boot the drive in different ways. He suggested getting another drive of the same model and he would switch out the circuit boards and see if that would work. I would have done it if I wasn’t so sure it was a mechanical failure with the drive (I heard the noise of doom just before it crashed).
Even though he spent a good deal of time on it (likely up to an hour including consultation time) he hardly charged me anything because he was unsuccessful. I had stopped at another computer place in Yucca and they would have charged 85$ just to look…
The service was great and the price was very good.

Dave (I think that’s his name) is amazing. I’m a very experienced user and am very confident in his skills. He does not b.s. or talk down to customers like some guys do when they think you may not know anything. He told me that replacing my tablet screen is such a complicated job and required special tools that he didn’t have. He told me that I needed to go down to the lower desert and gave me the card of a guy that could do the job. I was too lazy to drive down but I was in Vancouver a couple months later and could NOT find someone to replace my screen for much less than the tablet was worth. I called a lot of places and Dave was 100% correct. It was really nice of him to tell me about the other business that could fix it too.

I have been to Hi Tech Computer Systems numerous times over the last 6 years and have felt very lucky to have such a knowledgeable person working on my machinery given the size of the town.

Nick is really, really nice, and seems to view computers sort of like people. When I brought my dead Sony VAIO laptop in, his first comment was: “You’ve got to treat them gently. They’re fragile.” Nick always gets the work done in a very timely manner and is an absolutely excellent computer technician. His rates are extraordinarily reasonable. I will not take my computer to another technician while Nick is available. He’s really, really wonderful. =)

He was awesome. My Lenovo laptop broke down in the desert and I urgently needed it for work. He was friendly, personable and knowledgeable. Given that i had a flight to catch, he couldn’t repair it himself, but he gave me a quick diagnosis and told me the options – free of charge. Thank you!

P.s. someone left an unwarranted review for him that morning, because they couldn’t read his door sign properly. He is always there, you just have to knock.
