I’ve purchased two refurbished laptops (Macbook Pro and Macbook Air) online from Tech Discounts. I knew what I wanted and I liked the price of each, as well as the one year warranty.
When the Macbook Air had a recent startup problem, I called and spoke with Jordan. He checked that the laptop was still under warranty and since I live in the neighborhood I was able to drop it off that afternoon.
Wil was the one to check it out and call me back the following day to say it was repaired under the warranty and ready to be picked up.
This could have been an irritating problem but it was the exact opposite: amazing service combined with super friendly help.
I am completely sold on Tech Discounts and excited to spread the word about the fabulous people who work there and the great work they do.

P.S.: There is a new retail store in St Paul, MN in addition to the Golden Valley location. And you can always shop online.

Be aware that not all items listed on web site are available at the retail store during Saturday store hours. I just drove 1 hour each way to the St. Paul location only to be told the item I was interested in is an “e-commerce item” and is only available for sale when the warehouse is open Monday thru Friday. There is no indication on the web site about this policy; rather, the web site says “local pick up only” and “Availability: 1 located in St. Paul” with a link to information about the St. Paul retail location. This certainly led me to believe that I could buy the item any time the retail location was open for business.

I bought used RAM off their eBay store page, and picked it up from their warehouse to save on shipping costs. The curbside pickup process went smoothly and was quick. As a heads up, semi trucks might conceal your view of their pickup door location, but try to follow the green cones and signage which leads you towards the middle part of the warehouse. This is the same pickup location for dropping off electronics to recycle (through their sister company Tech Dump), which is nice to keep in mind for e-recycling purposes.
