I was uncertain about Rick’s Computer Service, so I began by calling Rick. I described my problem of computer being extremely slow and unable to complete MS updates.
Rick gave me a best guess diagnosis and a very rough guestimate of the cost. That encouraged me to go further.
I delivered the laptop to Rick and he made a more thorough analysis. The repairs fell into two categories:
1. Essential – New SSD to replace old HD and general software cleanup.
2. Nice to have – Replace CD drive and damaged Palm Rest (keyboard).

I bought the SSD Rick suggested and delivered it to him ad in a couple of days, the laptop was ready to go. Boot time with the SSD was a fraction of the time with the old drive.
I was so pleased that after a couple of days I called Rick back and told him I wanted to go ahead with the ” nice to have” repairs. He found replacement parts on line and sent me the links. I bought the replacement parts and delivered them to Rick who installed them.

Rick did an excellent job of getting my older laptop working and in good physical condition for an excellent price.
It was a bit strange for me to buy the parts (new and used) and deliver them to Rick but it worked out fine for both of us.

If anyone else in my family has laptop problems, we will call Rick again for sure.

Rick is simply amazing, knocked it out of the park for me. I have an ASUS G751J, 17″ touch screen Republic of Gamers laptop. A beast. The motherboard and screen were both fried from a power surge and the parts and labor estimates I got from several local repair shops were way more than I was willing to invest. Rick spent time helping me troubleshoot over the phone late on a Friday afternoon. He was honest about what he thought my options would be (dire) but offered to take a look at it right away. Rick diagnosed my problems as I waited, found an economical solution, and emailed me a series of parts options with notation in about an hour.

Nice guy with excellent prices and prompt service. Rick is now my emergency repair guy since he’s the only one who performs repairs immediately; which is when just about all computer repairs are needed.
