I hate leaving negative reviews, so this edit brings me NO pleasure. The initial experience I had with uBreakiFix was great, and I wrote the above review directly after my experience… However, I feel strongly compelled to speak the truth about what’s happened since then. I’ve had two broken screen repairs within a few weeks, and the following issue presented after both repairs. The issue that has presented, is an issue with screen adhesion. There is an “unsticking” sound when releasing pressure from the screen, and there are intermittent “dead spots” on the screen, where it doesn’t respond to touch. I took the phone in to have it fixed, after the second repair. The tech listened as I reproduced the issue, agreed it was an issue, and said to come back in a couple of hours. After the prescribed time, he presented the phone to me, declaring it fixed. However, the issue persisted. When I brought it back the second time, I was told that there was nothing they can do, as it was a faulty part, not poor workmanship. He advised to call Samsung, and that if they heard Samsung say, or I had an email stating that they needed to fix it, that they would. However, after I spoke with Samsung, I relayed the following: Samsung told me that the repair must be up to Samsung standards, and if there’s a faulty part, uBreakiFix needs to interact with Samsung, not the customer. They said that since they “hooked it up to our machines” and it “was up to standards”, that there was “nothing we can do for you”. They ADMITTED that they think it is a faulty part, and yet, they deem this to be my issue to fix. So currently, ubreakifix refuses to rectify this situation, and the phone is still not fixed properly. This kind of treatment of a customer is absolutely abysmal, and I can scarcely believe that it’s happening. I have tried to handle this with as much kindness and grace as I can, because I know that even the best business and people can have bad days. But, this seems to be a persistent issue with uBreakiFix… So, do what you will with this review, but if I were you, I would find another place to repair my things.

As much as I hate leaving bad reviews, I also like giving positive updates, even if it drags the review along. I think it’s important to tell the whole story. After my negative experience, I called uBreakiFix customer service, and started an escalated ticket. Someone from corporate called me about a week later, and they talked to me about my experience. We hammered it out, and agreed that what happened, should’ve been dealt with much differently, with the manager helping me to figure out next steps, even if there wasn’t anything they could further do. The jury is out on whether they should take responsibility for damage done to my phone while in their care, but the logic that says “if it wasn’t broken before you got it, and it is now, you’re responsible for the repair” is sound in any industry I’ve ever been a part of. But, I digress. The person with whom I spoke, was very good at deescalation, and they made it right as much as they could. Samsung ultimately replaced my phone on factory warranty, so uBreakiFix didn’t have to address their error directly. But hopefully, the superiors in this scenario will actually talk to the folks at that location about their errors, and the employees will incorporate the fixes. I do want to note that I understand they are short-handed, and very busy. But that’s never been an excuse to shirk your responsibility to do the right thing, or to brush a customer off.

Let this be a cautionary tale, or at least a tale to open your eyes to possible issues, and what you can possibly do to mitigate them.

I was skeptical at first, but I decided to take a chance and see if they could repair the inner screen for my Z Flip 4. Not only did they fix the screen but the rep said that I had a cool background (don’t tell him that I changed it). There was a small crack on the back glass panel that I caused when I dropped it that I didn’t tell them about, and the fact that it’s still there after I got it back from the store tells me that they didn’t just transfer over the working components into a new shell and they actually replaced the screen like I asked them to. The repair wasn’t cheap on my part, because of the fact that I didn’t get insurance with my phone, I paid around $450 out of pocket for the repair. Great customer service and they did a great job! I’m happy to be reunited with my phone that I’m still paying off an installment plan for.

Our Apple computer had some serious issues. James worked on it for several days, calling us often with updates and options. He definitely went out of his way to figure out a solution to get us up and running again and helped save our data and photos. We appreciated his diligence because it would have been easy (and understandable) to give up and just recommend we get a new one. In addition, we bought the Asurian coverage so the cost was minimal. We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome under the circumstances. We are retired and not very tech savvy and he was very patient with us as we asked for clarifications. All of the staff members were very nice and attentive each time we went in. We highly recommend this team if you have any electronic issues.
