The lack of basic courtesy set a negative tone from the start. When I approached the counter and requested assistance, the operator simply stated they couldn’t accept some of the items without providing a clear reason.
Seeking better service, I requested to speak with another operator, only to encounter the same dismissive attitude, rude behaviour towards myself because i pointed the bad attitude of one of the operator and lack of engagement. This pattern persisted throughout my visit, with subsequent interactions proving equally disappointing.
During the visit to CEX, I interacted with three staff members, greeting each one upon arrival. Unfortunately, none of them acknowledged my greeting or reciprocated in any manner. This lack of basic courtesy set a disappointing tone for the remainder of my experience. I was met with a cold and indifferent demeanor ,devoid of any greeting, or willingness to assist and rude behaviour.
The overall customer service experience was deeply unsatisfactory. It was evident that the staff lacked proper training in customer interaction and failed to uphold basic standards of courtesy and professionalism.
Based on this encounter, I regret to say that I cannot recommend CEX to others, including my family and friends. The treatment I received reflects a disregard for customer satisfaction and highlights the need for significant improvements in how customers are to be treated with basic respect and manners.
They sold us an XBOX in the box, which when we took home, we stashed the box under the bed, and left it untouched. When we tried to sell it to them later because we weren’t using it much, they said they have to chop the price because there was a piece of cardboard missing inside. We told them we bought it from THEM like that, and they basically just said one of their staff must’ve cheesed it, and shrugged. So we’re losing money for your mistake?
We also tried to sell a DVD box set that we had bought from them a few months ago, which didn’t turn out to be that good. The guy that tested them asked us for the box, which we told him we didn’t have. He left and came back with every single DVD (there were 18) out of the box in a stack. He said they can’t buy it without the box, and just slid the pile back to us and watched as we put all the DVD’s back in. When they sold it to us, the actual box was in tatters, the cases inside had to be held together with rubber bands. So we threw it out, only to now find out that they won’t buy it themselves without an intact box.
When I asked why the offer was so low, they said it was because they needed to sell it at $200 and that the sales team set the price. This explanation is not acceptable from a customer’s standpoint. It’s infuriating to wait for so long only to receive such an insulting offer.
Their business practices are sketchy at best. They wasted my time and tested my belongings, all for a paltry $56 offer. I strongly advise others to avoid this place they are ripping people off and their service is absolutely appalling.
