I dropped my laptop in 2 weeks before Xmas to have the battery replaced and to get a quote on repairing the speakers. When dropping it in I was told that someone would call me the next day to quote the speaker and that I’d have my laptop back before Christmas. I heard nothing the following day or before Christmas.

I called over the Christmas break and left a voice message for an update. I did not hear back.

I called on the 10/01 and was told they hadn’t ordered the battery, and that they were “working on my speakers”, to which I said I asked for a quote and still had not received. They also mentioned they received my voicemail (but didn’t call me back?)

I called again on the 17/01 and was told they hadn’t worked out what was wrong with the speakers, and the battery still had not been ordered. I was told they hadn’t ordered the battery because they would order it and the speaker parts at the same time. I said not to worry about the speakers to just leave them, and to just order the battery as it had been over a month at this point and I am leaving Adelaide.

I received my laptop back last week and noticed I was not able to access/ open any photos. I called Compute your world and explained the error message I was receiving. I was told that the issue I’m explaining had nothing to do with that they had done and to bring it in and they will open a new job for it. I did want to do this as 1. This was not an issue prior to the battery replacement, I’m not paying for you to fix something you had done, and 2. As mentioned previously I am leaving Adelaide and do not have another month for my laptop to sit in their shop.

I ended up calling another local computer shop and explained the error message. Over the phone they walked me through how to rectify my issue, and explained it’s common after a system update (which compute your world mentioned they had done). I wasn’t even a paying customer and they offered more help than compute your world, and we’re able to resolve my issue.

Took my Harddrive into these guys in the middle of JAN 2024 as I couldn’t log on/start up computer. Kept getting ‘disc failure error’ message. Was told by them the drivers in it had died and NO data (documents/pictures/music etc) was going to be able to be saved through their diagnostic checks that had been done by them. I would need to have a new hard drive set up by them. This seemed strange as I had only about three years earlier had my drives in my hard drive updated elsewhere. I didn’t know it at the time but luckily for me these guys were so slow at doing anything with it that I got sick of waiting for it that I picked it up after 74 days and took it to another place at Marion who quickly discovered it wasn’t the drives but one of the electrical cables in my hard drive which was quickly repaired and my hard drive updated. Everything back to me all fixed within a week and ALL my data saved. Will be going back to computer place in Marion in future. Will NEVER go back to ComputeYourWorld at Morphett Vale.

Would never recommend this company! Handed my laptop in to be fixed. 23/07 Was told rough price, max 2 weeks. Ok. 2 months later still not fixed. “Part hasn’t arrived” No call backs on what’s going on. Asked for it back. Was asked to pay a deposit if I picked it up until part arrived. Decided not to bother and just wait for part. Called 7 times over 2 months. Last call 4/09 male was rude as hell over the phone. Cutting me off mid sentences and hung up. Turns out they didn’t even order the part. Someone else picked up my laptop without my knowledge. No confirmation with phone number. Just straight up handed laptop to someone that wasn’t me! My $1700 gaming laptop!
