Had a problem with crashing during games so booked to have a guy come look at it. Explained in detail in my initial message that it will crash when cold, (not having been used for a while), but seemed to work after a few attempts at restart. The guy sat down and seemed to be looking up what to do as he went, (or perhaps messaging someone who did know), and after checking and playing with a few settings and taking photos of the screen here and there, (with a few crashes along the way), he finally updated the graphics card driver, (which I could have done myself and had done when this problem first began to occur). He then tried to run the game we where using to test it one more time and it didn’t crash. I reminded him, (as I had done 2 other times during the time he was here), that that’s what it does; it crashes when it’s cold then begins to work once it’s warmed up a bit. He was mostly non-communicative and dismissive when I told him this and just suggested that it was fixed and proceeded to send me the invoice and grab his stuff and leave. We went out for the day and came home and when my son switched it on, it crashed immediately, confirming my suspicion that he had basically done nothing. Worse than that though, we actually can’t even start the computer now as it’s in some kind of reboot purgatory. I’ve tried to keep this review civil and purely descriptive, but rest assured, I’m extremely unhappy with this outcome. Based on my experience and on the experiences of others in the reviews, don’t use Jim’s unless you’re up for a game of hit and miss.

Edit: the guy who came to fix it gave the money back. My son managed to restore the computer to its previous state but it still crashes. The guy maintains that he was doing busy work on his phone while waiting for the drivers to install, (not looking up the solution), which I will give him the benifit of the doubt for that. I was in doubt about weather to keep the returned money or to send out back to him, but the reality is he still failed to fix the problem, and he did barely anything to diagnose it correctly, opting to go straight to reinstalling drivers and doing no further examination or testing beyond that, even though there where many possible reasons for the PC to crash in the way it did, some being far more likely to be than cause than the driver needing to be updated.

I had booked in my Work Station Laptop for a repair due to my computer not reading my SSD, I was extremely worried as my data on there was priceless! Brad & Tony both called me back within 30 Minutes of putting a request through online, making me feel valued, they treated me as a Priority.
